Two FEMA trailers formerly used as temporary housing for victims of Hurricane Katrina were donated to Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary this summer.
They had been parked at the U.S. Geological Survey office in Gainesville for quite some time and had sustained weather and vulture roosting damage, but we’re in the process of restoring one of them so that we can convert it into an offsite “adoption mobile”.
The interior is equipped with working heat and air conditioning. We will convert the dining area into an office where potential adopters can come inside, view and interact with the kittens and cats in a casual and stress free environment.
So watch for our Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary “adoption mobile” at your favorite pet store parking lot and other adoption events in the near future.
Haven Acres Cat Sanctuary received a $3000 4 R’s Project Support grant from the Petco Foundation that was used to spay and neuter 55 cats at the sanctuary.
Now the kitties can come out of their space cramped crates and join their other Purr...fect fenced cat companions until a Forever Home is made available to them.
